First African American female appointed Assistant Reading Supervisor (1966). First African American Reading Consultant and Coordinator of Reading (1975). She was employed by the Public School System of Hartford, Connecticut. First African American woman elected to the Bloomfield, Connecticut Town Council. This pioneering soror served as Deputy Mayor her last term (1969). First African American appointed Treasurer of the Town of Bloomfield and a member of the Human Relations Committee. She served on the Heating, Piping and Cooling Board for the State of Connecticut for 13 years and the Board of Trustees for Connecticut Public Television and Watkinson School.
