First African American Director of Douglass Community House, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was employed by the City and was the only female who had entire charge of the agency (1918). First African American woman to be appointed by Governor Frank Lausche to serve on the Board of the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Home. The facility was integrated during her tenure.
