First African American female Recreation Director in the Seattle, Washington Park Department. (Note from obituary - "Though she held degrees in economics and education, Mrs. Braxton, an African American, was told she wasn't qualified to teach white children." This pioneering Soror created the first Dance and Drill team in the Seattle School District. She later performed with the Alvin Ailey Dancers & the Dance Theater of Harlem.
