First African American female as Dean of Nursing at Tuskeegee Institute to establish the first Baccalureate Degree program in Nursing in the State Of Alabama (1953). She developed clerkships for her students at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa after desegregation and with the University of Maryland in Baltimore.
