First African American female graduate from Wayne University Medical School (1943). First African American to create the first interracial medical practice in Detroit, Michigan (1947); First African American physican granted full attending status at Hutzel Hospital (1950). She continued in private practice, and was appointed as the First African American Chief Physician of Ford Motor Company World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.(1977 - 1985).
