First African American appointed to the Bronx, New York Veterans Administration Hospital as a Medical Psychiatric Social Worker (1967). This pioneering soror initiated "Project Concerned," the first program in Mount Vernon, New York to work with drug addicts and their families with the aid of the United Negro Clergy Organization. She was also the first African American to travel to the new State of Israel (1950).
