Contribution:
First African American Chairperson of the Colored Women's Division of the Republican Party. She began to develop and sustain NAACP chapters in Southern West Virginia (1918). First African American to initiate and sponsor the "Freedom Seals" project which grossed over one million dollars for legal defense.
