First African American female Associate Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Director of Summer School at Fayetteville State University (1973-1998). This pioneer was also the first African American female appointed to the former Cumberland County Auditorium / Arena Commission (1986). First African American Chairman (1989). The organization changed its name to Civic Center Commission and this pioneering Soror continued to serve until 2000. First African American woman to be elected to head the Board of Trustees at Fayetteville Technical Community College(2004), serving as Secretary to the Board (1993 - 2004).
