Contribution:
First African American female to win an at-large (partisan) election in North Alabama (2002). This pioneer was re-elected for a six year term, (November 2006) and retired in 2013. She served as the first African American Presiding Municipal Judge, Assistant District Attorney, private practitioner and teacher of Criminal Justice at Alabama A & M University. During her tenure, she established the first Family Drug Court, Juvenile Drug court and Adult Judge Court.
