A native of Burlington, North Carolina, Dr. Toya Corbett is the Executive Director of Student Engagement and Leadership at North Carolina Central University. She has the responsibility of overseeing the operation of the Alfonso Elder Student Union that includes the Office of Student Activities, the Student Activities Board, the Student Government Association, Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Leadership Development. In her role at NCCU, Corbett has a desire to “change the culture” by providing a new and engaging leadership development model for students, making the Student Union a more inviting and exciting environment and increasing the amount of educational and cultural programming offered.
